Hillary's lifetime dream of world domination gives up the ghost:

Oh, my, doesn't Her Infernal Majesty fake sincere magnanimity and graciousness flawlessly? You can almost forget that she's spent the past five months trashing St. Barack as an upstart, usurpatious greenhorn with Curious George overtones. Just as it almost, but doesn't quite slip one's mind that she's got several items of unfinished business to pursue.

Money:

In politics, money talks. And money is likely to be an important factor in discussions between Barack Obama’s advisers and the debt-saddled Hillary Rodham Clinton campaign.

Clinton will likely seek help from Obama in retiring her massive campaign debt, which has swollen to more than $30 million, including $11 million she lent the effort, advisers said Thursday.

The former first lady, who plans to bow out of the race and endorse Obama on Saturday, told donors she will raise money for Obama’s campaign, both to help the Democratic Party’s cash position and to expand the Illinois senator’s prodigious fundraising base. Her advisers estimate the former first lady could bring in $50 million to $100 million for the general election campaign — and much more if she were named Obama’s running mate.

That $11 mil of her own lucre is crucial inasmuch as she can only recoup that between now and the Donk convention. After that she's limited to $250,000, which gives new meaning to the expression "time is money".

As the aforequoted ready-made segue indicates, the next bullet point is reserving pole position for 2012:

She’s going to run again. Put that in the bank.

One, political operations don’t make this kind of investment and rapid response without another motive; manners by themselves are too expensive and time-consuming. And, two, re-read the seventh paragraph: “I know as I continue my lifelong work for a stronger America and a better world, I will turn to you for the support,” etc. You’re in her data bank right now for future reference and use. Count on it.

Makes sense if you take Her Nib's pathological power obsession to its logical extreme. If she can't beat BO this time, the next best thing is to ride shotgun and either jump clear from a November Obamacle and hit the 2012 ground running to pre-empt any more such "out of nowhere" submarinings, or become heir apparent in 2016, even if she is older than dirt when she gets there. And you know La Clinton Nostra would be doing all it could to push for the former, which is the essence of why Obama would be insane to let her ride pillion on his jackass.

But there is a third option. And at the risk of being labeled obsessive myself, I'll let the man who knows the Clintons better than anybody else alive, the toe-sucker himself, Dick Morris, set it forth with the bark on therein:

As Hillary says, June is “early” in politics when the convention is not to be held until the end of August, unusually late for a Democratic conclave. And, as Tip O’Neill says “a week is a long time in politics.” So is three months.

Rumors abound about incriminating material on Obama. The potential for misstep is amplified now that he adjusts to a new task of taking on McCain — who knows how many other preachers there are in the closet? Hillary’s skilled force of private detectives, which we once called the secret police, are doubtless diving into garbage dumpsters all over America to come up with whatever they can.

Hillary wants to be there to exploit any mistakes. She will be watching and waiting. Suppose Obama flubs a line on the campaign trail or damaging material emerges from the Rezko prosecution?

Hillary will indicate her continued availability as an alternative. Remember that superdelegates can change their minds anytime they want. Now they are leaving Hillary to back Obama, the winner, but they could easily go the other way. By not releasing her pledged delegates, she remains within striking distance of the nomination if an Obama faux pas leads to an exodus of superdelegates from his camp.

Remember, peeps, superdelegates do not have to declare until the convention itself. If the trap door the "secret police" will be furiously trying to install this summer opens beneath the feet of the Anointed One, the supers can still flip over and hand the nomination to Mrs. Clinton on Barry's stone tablets.

I won't go so far as to predict success in that nefarious endeavor. But the attempt is a foregone conclusion.

The Clintons are the Jason of politics. You can't kill them. You can only hope to slow them down long enough to make your escape.

Can False Messiah get away with the nomination AND the presidency, even with his PR running shoes on and the Enemy Media protecting him, with La Clinton Nostra zombie-izing all the radical extremist skeletons rattling around in his metaphorical closet?

The two things we can count on are that the Rodham-Obama war is not over yet. Not by a long shot.

And if the Empress ascends the throne next January, you can bet your gas money I'll be here to say "I told you so."
