Glittering Jewel of Colossal Ignorance

...to coin a Rush phrase. I know, I could be talking about Barack Obama, but this time it's Josh Howard of the Dallas Mavericks:

In a video posted on YouTube, the swingman is shown at Allen Iverson's charity flag football game in July. When the national anthem is being sung, various participants are shown mugging for the camera. When the camera gets to Howard, he says: " 'The Star-Spangled Banner' is going on. I don't celebrate this [expletive]. I'm black."

Yeah, you idiot. Don't celebrate the country in which you make a seven figure income by playing basketball. One of the commenters said it best:

Only in this God-blessed country could a cretinous creature like Josh actually ascend to the financial heights of an NBA player. In India he would be an "untouchable", doomed to cleaning the sewers of the rich--BY HAND--until the next lifetime! And please folks, consider the source: publicly educated (in his formative years); literacy-challenged; a paucity of grammar and syntax; project-whelped; perhaps just a touch of Tourette's? The NBA--like most brawn-dependent sports--is quickly flatlining! Perhaps society-at-large will issue a "DO NOT RESUSITATE" order to the NBA, by staying away in droves. (And that includes eschewing the televised games!) His agent obviously needs to send him to etiquette class, and perhaps a civics course or two!

It always amazes me when Hollywood types and highly paid sports stars come out with their anti-American crap, dissing the very country and economic system which allows them their incredible lifestyles. Being an thug and a jerk is bad enough, being a rich one is even worse.
