Well, Speaker Bass, are you prepared to follow through on the logic of your words?:

From a Q&A with the speaker of the California assembly, Karen Bass, in the Los Angeles Times:

Q: How do you think conservative talk radio has affected the Legislature’s work?

A: The Republicans were essentially threatened and terrorized against voting for revenue. Now [some] are facing recalls. They operate under a terrorist threat: “You vote for revenue and your career is over.” I don’t know why we allow that kind of terrorism to exist. I guess it’s about free speech, but it’s extremely unfair.

I guess she said it: “I guess it’s about free speech, but it’s extremely unfair.”

As if....

1) Bass gives one leaf off the fig tree about whether Republicans are "threatened" or not - unless, perhaps, it's anybody besides reprobate tinpots like her doing the threatening.

2) Voting for "revenue" isn't voting for tax increases.

3) Voting for tax increases on top of the biggest state tax burden in the country in the face of an even more bloated state budget that is the blinding neon flash-skyscraper sized billboard-visible from parsecs away-grand bull moose gold medal winner example of naked statist greed constitutes "fiscal responsibility".

4) The voters of California didn't overpoweringly and angrily reject the jackbooted attempt on the part of Bass' party to indulge that greed at their expense.

5) "Threats" of mounting primary challenges in the next legislative elections against Republicans who vote like Democrats constitutes "terrorism".

6) Priority #1 for Golden State Donks isn't to abuse their power to utterly erase Proposition #13, the initiative/referendum process, and any other civic mechanism that gives the people - remember them, Ahnuld? - a say in what their government can do to them.

And even after "da peepul" spoke emphatically, leaving the Legislature no choice but to start cutting spending and reducing the size of the behemoth in Sacramento, they still refused bow to the supposedly sovereign will of the electorate and are simply spewing IOUs every which way, undoubtedly counting on their lord and master Godbama to "terrorize" the rest of the country into bailing them out.  And he'll do it, too.

Meanwhile, we see yet another example in an embarrassing - well, it ought to embarrass them - wealth of examples of what Marxist authoritarians Obamunist Dems really are.  I've always said, going back to the early Clinton years, that Democrats, in their gilded self-righteousness and moral supremacism, don't understand how there can even be any political opposition to their sainted rule - so virtuous that allowing such Lilliputian impediments to proletarian sanctification as the rule of law and the (former) democratic (small "d") process to get in the way of the Left's "great work" would be immoral, sinful, blasphemous, and sacreligious - and therefore deem any such political opposition to be ipso facto illegitimate, immoral, and now evidently criminal and demonic as well.  They have reached the depths of one of their own publicly declaring that Islamist fanatics trying to mass-murder Americans - what used to be understood in official circles as the working definition of "terrorism" - is morally superior to conservatives exercising their supposed constitutional rights to influence the political process by holding their own party's officeholders accountable.

Well, now.  If that is what Karen Bass truly believes - and if she does, you can take it to the (nationalized) bank that national Donk capos all the way up to the big-earred, greedy, lying, sack-'o-shit ninny on the Unholy-Of-Unholies (formerly the Oval Office) throne himself do as well - then don't they all have to take the appropriate action to address this mortal national security threat?  Don't they have to end the secret ballot not just for union elections but federal elections as well?  Arrest all registered and elected Republicans?  Ban the Republican Party?  Suspend their writ of habeas corpus and imprison them without trial or appeal?

Oh, wait, yeah, there is that little quibbling detail known as the FIRST F'ing AMENDMENT, isn't there?  But it's so UNFAIR that EVERY American should get constitutional protections, rather than just those Americans who are of the "correct" political affiliation and divinely empowered and guided intentions, isn't it, Karen?

Well, don't worry, Miss Bass; once your D.C. counterparts abuse their misbegotten 2008 majorities to blow the fluttering tatters of the Constitution to smithereens via the jamdowns of Hogzilla, card check, cap&tax, "the government option," Hogzilla II, Stalinizing the 2010 census, and the rest of a lib agenda only a commissar could love, I'm sure they'll get around to it.

Or maybe Red Barry will save time on waiting until 2012 and ask his good, close, personal friend Mahmoud Ahmadinejad if he can borrow the latter's Basij storm troopers to summarily end this "terrorist threat" once and for all.

A small price to pay for "revenue," right?
