CEI Readies Itself for the 9/12 Tea Party
 
Yet another tea party march on Washington, DC is scheduled for September 12th. The Competitive Enterprise Institute, working hand-in-hand with the Ayn Rand Center have set out to inject consistent and rational arguments into the debate by holding an Intellectual Ammunition Workshop at the National Press Club on 9/11 for 500 tea party participants.
 
 
 
CEI's Lee Doren Rebuts the Need for Government-Run Health Care
 
Lee Doren, Crasher-in-Chief at BureauCrash, in response to a popular video on YouTube, offers a critical rebuttal against the need for Government-Run Health Care. In other videos, he takes on the logic of the Young Turks, and his recent speeches at tea party rallies. All of them are published at his personal YouTube channel, How the World Works.

A new study published in the journal Health Affairs calls into question claims by congressional Democrats and President Obama that mandatory coverage of preventive care services in public and private health insurance programs will lead to substantial cost savings. . . More comprehensive studies, such as a literature survey published last year in the New England Journal of Medicine, suggest that, on balance, preventive care services add to health care costs, not reduce them.
 
 
A major scandal has arisen in the biggest environmental lawsuit in history - the $27 billion lawsuit against Chevron oil company brought by a lawyer representing citizens of Ecuador. As reported in Tuesday’s New York Times, Chevron has released video implicating Ecuador government officials close to the president in a massive bribery scheme.
 
 
One of Obama’s own advisers admits that the cap-and-trade energy-rationing scheme backed by the “Obama administration and Congressional Democrats” would “have a trivially small effect on global warming while imposing substantial costs on all American households. And to get political support in key states, the legislation would abandon the auctioning of permits in favor of giving permits to selected corporations.”
