Today's the third day of Senate hearings on the Cap and Trade Energy Tax Bill. With all the talk of how "cap and trade" will create millions of new jobs, we can't help but think of something else: Balloon Boy.
Why? Because the argument that's being made by the Administration and their allies, that massive new energy taxes will create millions of jobs, is a complete hoax. It's a greater hoax than the parents in Colorado having us believe their 6-year-old son was floating away in a giant balloon.
The sponsors of these cap and trade energy taxes, Senators Barbara Boxer and John Kerry, have yet to convince even their fellow Democrats that higher taxes would be good for an economy nearing 10% unemployment, as Senator Max Baucus (a key Senator on this issue) said just yesterday that he has "serious reservations" about the bill.
So today,we thought we'd deconstruct the cap and trade jobs hoax, and explain how cap and trade energy taxes will actually destroy millions of jobs, and hurt our economy.
You can start by watching the spoof video below, which relates the Balloon Boy hoax to the cap and trade jobs hoax
The parents of Balloon Boy in Colorado fooled millions of Americans with their hoax. Yet, they only broke our hearts.
We hope you'll help expose this cap and trade jobs hoax before the Administration and Congress break our economy.
Sincerely,
Vince Haley Vice President for Policy American Solutions
