Climategate Leads Back To....

C'mon, where else?:

Lift up a rock and another snake comes slithering out from the ongoing University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit (CRU) scandal, now riding as “Climategate”.

Obama Science Czar John Holdren is directly involved in CRU’s unfolding Climategate scandal. In fact, according to files released by a CEU hacker or whistleblower, Holdren is involved in what Canada Free Press (CFP) columnist Canadian climatologist Dr. Tim Ball terms “a truculent and nasty manner that provides a brief demonstration of his lack of understanding, commitment on faith and willingness to ridicule and bully people”.

The most embarrassing item for the Obama administration may be a 2003 exchange between Holdren and TCSDaily.com editor-in-chief Nick Schulz. Schulz challenged Holdren on whether downplaying the significance of the Medieval Warm Period required “what lawyers call the burden of proof.”

Holdren’s retort contained a remarkable assertion coming from a scientist: “In practice, burden of proof is an evolving thing – it evolves as the amount of evidence relevant to a particular proposition grows.”

Canada Free Press columnist and Canadian climatologist Dr. Tim Ball says of the correspondence with Schulz that Holdren’s “entire defense and position devolves to a political position.”

Well, OF COURSE it does.  Because the global warming myth is 100% about politics, not science.  World communism didn't die with the fall of the Berlin Wall, after all; it just sought sanctuary in the modern environmental "movement" (Anybody else remember where Mikhail Gorbachev went after his CPSU gig ran its course?).  Since Ronald Reagan spoiled its frontal assault on humanity, it donned the cloak of Roland Emmerich (Say, have you ever noticed how much he resembles Vladimir Putin?) pseudoscience and employed Western leftism's moral supremacism fetish to shame and panic Americans into willingly accepting tyranny, impoverishment, and servitude by bamboozling us into believing that a "climate catastrophe" will be even worse.

Oh, and it worked - as long as it was just a load of gauzy feel-goodedness about the self-esteem-building qualities of "going green".  The ascension of Barack Obama to the post of Messiah of the United States along with a Donk SuperCongress raised the spectre of the other jackboot dropping.  Suddenly here came "cap & trade" and its hundreds of billions of dollars in permanent energy taxes designed and intended to, as the late William Simon once put it, "shut down the dynamo" beneath the crushing weight of hopeychangy scarcity (permanent rolling brownouts and blackouts, 1970s-esque gas lines, the effective banning of the automobile as we know it, herding us all out of suburbia into grey, cookie-cutter, Soviet-style highrise apartment buildings in the name of "sustainability," etc.) - or what The One would proclaim as "The New Prosperity".   To go along with "The New Freedom," of course (Hey, what would Woodrow Wilson do about the gimmick infringement - sue from beyond the grave?).  Suddenly "drill, baby, drill" started sounding a helluva lot better.

Now - surprise! - REAL science (which is supposed to be a continual process of searching for facts and truth) is making a comeback.  We're finding out just how egregiously the greenstremists stacked the evidentiary deck.  And we can see how tolerant and welcoming they are of intellectual diversity and differing points of view:

The CRU documents also find Holdren disparaging solar physicists Sallie Baliunas and Willie Soon, contrarians regarding surface temperatures over the past millennium, who were colleagues of Holdren at Harvard, and Ball wonders if Holdren may have intimidated the two scientists before they “suddenly and politely withdrew from the fray,” as Ball describes it.

Sell your soul to the Collective, enjoy wealth, praise, glory, honor; remain, you know, AN ACTUAL SCIENTIST, and expect villification, persecution, and professional/financial/personal ruin.  Unless enough true scientists band together, as is now happening.

It's so fitting that John Holdren is the tentacle linking this scandal back to Red Barry.  This is a man who, never forget....

....co-authored a 1977 book, Ecoscience: Population Resources, Environment, advocating compulsory abortion for purposes of population control, mass sterilization, government-dictated family size like China’s one-child policy, and a “planetary regime” to be policed by the United Nations.

Oh, yes, and he's one of Al Gore's commsymp apostles.  And, now, part of Barack Obama's unconfirmed, extraconstitutional globular czar cluster.
