The New Full Employment

Dirty Harry Reid, the dead Senate Majority Chisler Walking, redefines our very economic existence:

Most likely you either (1) chuckled in cynical disgust at the pathetic spin or (2) spluttered in fresh outrage at the sheer callousness of it.  THIS is the "party of the little guy," of the "working man," of "compassion"?  Hey, we "only" lost 36,000 f'ing jobs last month!  Wheee!  Let the party begin!  Harry'll bring the food stamps!  Dumpster-diving for everybody!

Sure, this yutz is not just dead meat (politically), he's rotting dead meat with maggots crawling all over him.  But I don't think it's all "cluelessness".  I think this is part of the overarching Donk effort to acclimate the American people to a lower, and ever-sinking, standard of living, and compel us to adjust our expectations of same accordingly.  Why do you think the Obamunists considered the financial panic of 2008 such an "opportunity"?  That way, they use the initial public fear (and lopsided congressional majorities) to RAM through their entire Marxist agenda in one fell swoop, the core practical effect of which would be to prevent any economic recovery and keep conditions depressed long enough for our short-attention span culture to get used to it.  Within just a few years, most people would forget what true prosperity was really like, and too many of us would be dependent upon Comrade Barry for our very economic survival.

It's of a piece with the endless Obamedia (and, well, Obama) "cluelessness" in reporting the next piece of recessionary news as being "unexpected" and spraying the perfume of "optimism" all over the ubiquitous dog mess piles that are the figurative calling card of Obamanomics.  Dirty Harry just gave it a clumsier, higher profile.

Higher than it would have been if he'd just quietly removed the loafer from his esophagus and left well enough alone.  But nooooo, Senator Pencil-Neck had to go to the floor again and prove he's got a package, or something:

And while the majority leader said that February’s job losses were “undeniably devastating,” Reid argued that job losses were much less than they could have been had Democrats not acted with their stimulus measures over the past year.

Oh, yeah, bring up the "jobs saved" metric of the poster-bill of Obamanomical failure as your shield, Harry!  That's the ticket!  Didja lose your pocket bullet in the cloakroom?

But this, my friends, is the punchline:

But Reid also lashed out at Republicans who’ve opposed many of those policies, accusing them of rooting for the economy’s failure for their own political game.

“And I warn them, once again, that this country has no place and no patience for those who root for failure,” Reid said to the GOP.

Might that be why this country has no place and no patience for your sorry ass?  Or have you forgotten the words of this manly-man studmuffin?:

Oh, and remember that rooting for American failure isn't unique to Barney Fife's Evil Twin.  The Democrat Party has a long and despicable tradition of it going back to Vietnam.  Ditto rooting for economic calamity, as when then-House Minority Leader Dickless Gephardt cracked in the summer of 2002 that his party would gain a House seat for every hundred-point drop in the Dow Jones Industrial Average.  Which, I guess, would be equivalent to Republicans picking up a House seat in 2010 for every tenth of a percent increase in the unemployment rate since this recession started in December 2007.  A dynamic that the Dems didn't mind at all when it worked in their favor.

All I can say is what I've been saying, Donks: what goes around, comes around.  Just ask Dirty Harry, even if he can't see the locomotive coming, complete with headlamp and blaring horn.  That really will be a great day in America, assuming we have much of an America left.
