Breathtaking it is that these two videos could come out on the very same day.

First, a message from the Acton Institute calling the BarryCare spade a the spade it is:

And, seemingly, no sooner does Micheal Miller get finished denouncing the Democrats' malevolent "infantilism" than Barney "My Boy Lollipop" Frank - also known in these parts as one of the co-designers of the Democrat Financial Logic Bomb - sneeringly confirms everything Miller said:

It's like when Dems spent months gleefully calling Barry Goldwater an "extremist" and then the Arizona senator used that famous phrase, "Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice..." in his 1964 GOP convention acceptance speech.  As if to say, "Well, yes, you're right, I am an extremist - but it's for a good cause!"

The difference of course being that, whatever you thought of Goldwater, nobody could make the argument that he belongs behind bars, or admit that the very sight of his ugly, smirking countenance makes you want to punch him right square in the middle of it.

At least his partner in crime stands a chance of getting some degree of comeuppance where it'll hurt him the most.

TELL CONGRESS:
REJECT SOCIALIZED HEALTH CARE!

To All Concerned Americans:

The radically liberal administration of Barack Hussein Obama -- with the help of his partners-in-crime Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid -- is trying to FORCE Americans to accept socialized health care like Canada and Europe…

But we have a chance TODAY to stop them!

Dr. McKalip, the President of the Florida Neurosurgical Society, has summed up the liberal Democrats' plan very clearly:
The Majority in Congress and the President are promising to change the "status quo" by pushing a government-run-medicine plan (HR 3200). The plan would create rationing through government committees, FORCE all Americans to buy over-priced, politically created health insurance, create an economically unsustainable government-run insurance plan, and impose economy-crushing taxes. In fact, the President would break yet another promise by imposing a 2.5% income tax on each person who refused to buy government improved insurance. Further, after 2013 people would be FORCED to stay in their current plan for LIFE or buy only a government-approved plan since no further enrollment will be allowed in non-approved insurance. Insurance companies would profit endlessly from the free business of the mandate. As medical care demands increased and artificially high profit margins became unacceptably low (for them) they would join the bailout game. In other words, there would be absolutely no change to the status quo — just an expansion of more people into the currently bad system with the added feature of state-sanctioned rationing of medical care.
More than 88 million Americans could LOSE their private, employer-based coverage, according to a new analysis of "The American Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009" released this week by The Heritage Foundation.

While Obama, Pelosi and Reid insist that "if you like your health insurance coverage, you'll get to keep it," it's now very clear: once again, THEY'RE LYING.

If the public plan is implemented as detailed in this bill, people with private insurance will be moved on a public plan, regardless of what they want, because their employers will make that decision because of the financial incentives in the bill.

That's not all: Yearly premiums for Americans with private coverage could jump as much as $460 per person as a result of more cost-shifting, which would stem from the public plan. Even doctors stand to lose thousands of dollars of income under the legislation. Annual physician net income is estimated to drop by 6.3 percent or $13.4 billion (coming in at an average $18,900 per physician) when compared with current trends.

Throughout the last presidential campaign, Barack Obama repeatedly promised the American people: "If you're a family that's making $250,000 a year or less you will see no increase in your taxes. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your personal gains tax, not any of your taxes."

He lied. Just 15 days into office, President Obama signed a bill expanding the children's health insurance program that was paid for with a 156% tax hike on tobacco. Since slightly more than half of today's smokers (53%) earn less than $36,000 per year, Obama's first effort at expanding government's role in health care also became his first broken promise.

But that first Medicaid expansion was NOTHING compared to the estimated $1.3 trillion health care plan Congress is considering now. And how is Obama planning to pay for it? Tax hikes -- including employer health care mandates, which are really just a TAX on low-income workers, since employers will have to lower pay and cut jobs because of the tax penalties on them.

Is THIS "change we can believe in"??? NO -- and that means WE have to take action NOW!

Barack Obama is insisting that "we have to do something NOW" about our "health care crisis" in America, to "stem the rising costs of health care." But isn't that what he said about his so-called "stimulus" package -- the one that is now costing in the TRILLIONS of dollars, and isn't helping anything -- in fact, is making our economy WORSE?

FoxNews reported that the Congressional Budget Office has projected that the House legislation will cost $1 trillion to $1.5 trillion over 10 years, depending on the plan adopted. The price tag sent shock waves through Washington and beyond -- as it SHOULD.

But the CBO can only project out 10 years by law. Other projections based on CBO's numbers and extending into the future show the bill could EXPLODE the deficit once the benefits are fully implemented. One estimate by the Republican staff of the House Ways and Means Committee estimated the deficit would increase by $759 billion over the first 10 years the benefits are fully in effect, which is in 2015. Another projection of long-range costs done by congressional staff shows deficits in the 2020s of $50 billion to $250 billion per year.

On top of that, while Obama and his supporters claim the legislation will be "deficit neutral," one senior administration official acknowledged Tuesday that the pledge does not apply to an estimated $245 billion to increase fees for doctors serving Medicare patients over the next decade.

We can't AFFORD Obama's plan to socialize health care in America!

TELL CONGRESS TO REJECT SOCIALIZED HEALTH CARE
BETTER KNOWN AS "OBAMACARE":

SEND YOUR FAXES NOW!

Obama and the liberal Democrats in Congress are trying to insist that their plans for the government to take over health care in America isn't "socialized medicine" -- but the fact is, socialized medicine exists to the extent that government controls medical resources and socializes the costs. And that's exactly what "Obamacare" will do!

Everyone, even leftists, admit that Obama's plan for "public option" health insurance is simply a giant step towards "single payer" health insurance -- which is short-hand for a health care system, like Canada's, where the government pays all the bills. As far back as 2003, Obama stated very plainly, "I happen to be a proponent of a single-payer, universal health care plan."

Universal coverage is impossible without coercion; that's why the leading Democratic proposals would FORCE Americans to obtain health insurance, either on their own or through an employer. And what if you don't WANT to get the level of coverage that government officials mandate? You pay a fine. And what if you DON'T pay the fine? You go to jail.

There's absolutely ZERO evidence that anything beyond a basic health plan actually improves health outcomes, yet the individual and employer mandates that Obama and his cronies are trying to pass gradually make coverage less affordable by outlawing the leaner, less expensive plans. And you can be sure of this: if Congress enacts these mandates, we can say goodbye to health savings accounts as we know them.

And on top of all of this… the fact remains that we can't AFFORD this plan! In the face of an estimated $1.85 trillion federal budget deficit for FY2009 and projected trillion dollar annual deficits for the foreseeable future, how can anyone in Congress vote for this health care plan, which will cost at least $1 trillion over the next ten years? Plus, Congress is facing at least $53 trillion of unfunded liabilities due to its passage of the previous entitlement programs, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and the recent addition of prescription drug coverage for Medicare. How can anyone in Congress vote for a new entitlement program for health care when Congress has not even begun to face up to this unfunded liabilities problem?

Well, they're trying to -- but WE can stop them, with YOUR help!

We CANNOT let the radical liberals in Congress -- and the White House -- force this plan for socialized health care on the American people! That's why we've set up our website to enable you to send a strong message to every single member of Congress, in both Houses, OPPOSING this outrageous plan.

For about what it would cost you in time and telephone charges, you can send Blast Faxes to Democrats, Republicans, Independents -- EVERYONE in the U.S. House AND the U.S. Senate, DEMANDING that they REJECT this socialized health care plan NOW!

Can it work? Can we stop Congress from forcing this down our throats, even though the GOP is in the minority?

YES -- thanks to "blue dog Democrats," who are more conservative than their "leaders" like Pelosi and Reid. Already, they've been holding up the bill in committee; now, they're saying that Pelosi might not have the votes she needs in the House! And on the Senate side, thanks to the overwhelming opposition of the American people to this bill, Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT), chair of the Senate Finance Committee, was overheard jokingly telling House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Maryland, "let me tell you, praying might be helpful here."

We CAN do this! In 1993, First Lady Hillary Clinton tried to force a less radical form of socialized health care down our throats, thinking that they could do it since the Democrats controlled Congress AND the White House.

What was the result? 1994, and the Republican Revolution. The liberal Democrats are "shooting themselves in the foot" again by trying to pass even more radical socialized health care this time -- but we CAN stop them!

Time to Stop ObamaCare is Running Out

What you do NOW will determine whether you will retain the right to choose your own healthcare or whether the government will choose for you.

Donate Before you know it, unless WE rise up in opposition to the so-called healthcare reform bills now making their way through the Congress, a trip to the doctor will resemble a trip to the Department of Motor Vehicles and your every action and lifestyle will be put under scrutiny and surveillance by the total healthcare information awareness snoops.

Unless you make it unambiguously clear to your Senators and Members of Congress immediately that the witches brew on healthcare they cooking up on Capitol Hill is totally unacceptable, a bunch of government bureaucrats will soon have to certify your health insurance policy before you can legally purchase it. Bureaucrats will set prices for every medical service, treatment, procedure and drug.

The National ObamaCare Opt Out (NOOO!) Registry (fashioned after the Do Not Call Registry) provides citizens a convenient way to express their opposition to the prospect of government taking control of their healthcare decisions. But it does more than that; it also harnesses that individual opposition into a powerful and effective political instrument that amplifies and focuses that opposition like a laser beam directed right at Congress and the White House.

It will be only a very short time before healthcare bureaucrats will ration care, deciding who gets what care, when and under what circumstances they may receive it. It will be illegal to circumvent these government controls and restrictions, and it wouldn’t be long before any attempt to do so by patients and doctors would be prosecuted as a criminal conspiracy. And, the system will be under such financial stress from the outset that unauthorized treatment will be considered unreported taxable income by the IRS, turning recipients of private charitable healthcare into Al Capones in the eyes of revenue agents.

Why is President Obama acting so obsessively, driving the Congress like a team of mules to enact ObamaCare so fast without giving the American public ample opportunity to examine and analyze what is being proposed? According to the most recent Rasmussen poll, more people now oppose ObamaCare (49 percent) than support it (46 percent). Even many of his fellow Democrats are having severe second thoughts about ObamaCare. Yet, the President isn’t listening. OBAMA IS TRYING TO STIFLE THE DEBATE on this most important piece of legislation to be considered by the Congress in the past century—more important than the vote creating Social Security—bound and determined to ram it through the Congress by August 8.

The reason the President is trying to give the American public the bum’s rush on healthcare is simple: ObamaCare in all its variants is fatally flawed, it won’t work, it will lead to healthcare rationing and in the process destroy the American medical system as we know it. ObamaCare will break the bank and grievously harm the economy. It will blow a hole in the deficit and raise taxes to an oppressive level. No wonder the President is trying to rush this monstrosity through the Congress at unprecedented speed; the longer it is exposed to public scrutiny in the light of day, the more apparent these horrible facts become to everyone.

In all my years in Washington, I have never seen a more terrifying plan unleashed on an unsuspecting public. Obama’s bureaucratic abomination will corrode the very foundation of medicine—the Hippocratic Oath—which has underpinned the healing arts since ancient times. Orthopedic Surgeon Robert P. Nirschl, M.D., M.S. of Arlington, Virginia, put it best in a recent letter: “The house version of Health Reform [H.R. 3200, the America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009] is in direct opposition to the Hippocratic Oath.

The practical ramifications of this bill virtually destroy the Doctor-Patient relationship. The Obama pledge that patients can still see their own doctor is a blatant mistruth and irrelevant as the doctor will no longer be free to act in the best interest of the patient. The AMA endorsement of the Bill as drafted is astounding and does not represent the position of the majority of Physicians in clinical private practice.”

That says it all. ObamaCare will undermine the ethical foundation of medicine and destroy best system of medical care in the world just so government can take it over and run it according to its own lights. It is hard to imagine a more outrageous act of hubris or an act of greater stupidity than to think bureaucrats can run the healthcare system. It can’t even run the post office.

Please don’t be misled by the innocuous-sounding bureaucratic jargon and mumbo jumbo being used to describe ObamaCare. It will place a legion of bureaucrats and government controls between doctors and patients. In the process, ObamaCare will corrupt the souls of healers and patients alike as the life-and-death struggle in which they will be forced to engage with bureaucrats to obtain timely and quality medical care turns everyone into a criminal. Back alley medicine will become a mainstay of America just the way it did in the Soviet Union.

Corruption, bribery, deception, black markets and favoritism were the hallmarks of Soviet medicine. They are all coming to America with ObamaCare. If you have any doubt of the enormous wedge ObamaCare will drive between patients and doctors, just take another look at the attached chart that shows the bureaucratic barriers that will stand between them under ObamaCare.

We can stop ObamaCare dead in its tracks if enough of you show Congress your outrage at what is being proposed. There will be plenty of time to come back later, when the economy is stronger and fix the real problems that exist with the current healthcare system without destroying it. There is no emergency, and the hype and hysteria the Obama Administration has stirred up is pure demagoguery designed to scare the American people into turning healthcare over to the government to run.

Friends -

Thank you for your support of the "Free Our Health Care NOW!" petition. More than 870,000 Americans have joined you in saying "NO!" to the federal government becoming their health care provider. We now have a tremendous opportunity! The probable delay in the vote until September in Congress allows you to use the tools available below in "What can you do about this?" to educate everyone you know.

Your continued support is crucial in the fight against nationalized health care. In the last week, the proponents of nationalized health care have continued to champion legislation which will increase cost, limit choice and decrease quality of your health care. Please continue to tell your network, friends and family that government-run health care is a threat to the quality of their health.

The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that ObamaCare will cost over $1 trillion. Notwithstanding President Obama's promise to oppose legislation "if that reform adds even one dime to our deficit over the next decade," the CBO estimates that recent House proposals will increase government spending by $1.04 trillion. Additionally, as for the Administration's most recent cost-savings plan - to create an independent advisory council to set Medicare fees - the CBO concluded that "the probability is high that no savings would be realized".

ObamaCare will dramatically reduce the choices you have over the cost and quality of your health insurance plan. Here's how:

  • ObamaCare will create an artificial market called a Health Insurance Exchange. The mandates the Exchange imposes will reject plans that don't 'measure-up' to the federal government's expectations for health care plans. As a result, millions of Americans will be forced to abandon their current plans and to accept a plan that they do not want or need.
  • Additionally, ObamaCare will create a board of bureaucrats empowered to define which health benefits are "essential". However, these "essential" benefits may exclude health care which most Americans and their doctors believe are essential - such as MRI scans and blood tests.

The bottom line: Under ObamaCare, Americans will face higher taxes and receive less take-home pay - all for a health insurance plan that forces them to pay for benefits they do not want and refuses to pay for procedures their doctor may recommend.

What can you do about this?

Thank you again for your support of the "Free Our Health Care NOW!" and for fighting against nationalized health care.

Barack Obama has proven with his words and actions that he knows no other strategy for addressing America's challenges but massive taxation and limitless government growth.

The Democrats in Washington have taken last year's election as a sign that voters want them to impose a liberal agenda on our society while we struggle with the present recession.

Billions of dollars are being wasted on pet liberal spending projects, but there is little evidence that the so-called Stimulus, government takeovers of banks and auto companies, and crushing deficit spending are having any positive effect.

Americans are starting to wake up to the radical nature of Barack Obama's agenda.

And now, as his popularity and influence start to slip away, he is trying to ram through Congress an unprecedented new government health care takeover.

Barack Obama's risky experiments must be stopped.

Right now the RNC is running this ad in an effort to counter the misleading claims of the Obama Democrats, and to keep the pressure on Democrats in battleground states like Arkansas, Nevada and North Dakota who may be pressured to vote for Obama's health care boondoggle.

But the RNC is running up against tens of millions of dollars in ads from liberal special interests who see the debate on health care as yet another way to get a government payout.

Help us keep our message on the air and prevent Barack Obama and the Pelosi-Reid Democrats in Congress from ending individual health care choice and using your tax dollars to treat only the patients they deem deserving.

After you watch our ad, please make a contribution to support our media effort to get our message past the liberal media filter and directly to the voters. If we do not stop the Obama Democrats' risky schemes for our health care system, we will face the end of health care choice in America and new burdensome taxes.

Now is your chance to defend health care freedom. We must hammer home the unacceptable costs and risks of the Obama Democrats' government imposed health care scheme now! End Barack Obama's experiments today.

Sincerely,

Michael Steele
Chairman, Republican National Committee

Health care battle just beginning

WASHINGTON- President Obama was dealt a serious setback to his government health care plan last week but he is pledging to fight back even harder through the Summer and into the Fall. Americans may have succeeded in delaying government-run health care for a few weeks but the battle has really only just begun. The White House will regroup and blast back at us. Now, more than ever, you need to let your voice be heard. Please join the 825,000 who have already signed this petition.

Sign this petition today to let Congress know you're not going to be quiet.

Everyone knows that nationalized healthcare is a terrible idea but everyday we unearth even more awful details in what is in the proposed government-run plan.

A nation of Terri Schiavos with a National Euthanasia Bill?

In 2005, a COURT ordered the removal of a feeding Tube from Terri Schiavo. It outraged a nation. If the Government takes over health care, bureaucrats will decide who lives and dies in America. In the name of "creating efficiencies," they will delay – or deny - treatment to critically ill patients because it costs too much.

We will have a NATION of Terri Schiavo’s, with a faceless Federal Bureaucracy pulling the plug instead of a Court.!

Sound crazy? It happens every day in Great Britain.

You can STOP what will in effect be government sponsored euthanasia in America if you ACT NOW.

If you care about the Sanctity of Life, the proposed Government Takeover of Health Care is an attack on your values.

A National Abortion Bill?

That is what the legislation should be called, because the bill pending in Congress includes the unlimited right of a woman to end the life of her baby, with the government footing the bill. And groups like Planned Parenthood will be the beneficiaries of your tax dollars.

To stop the state sponsorship of abortion , ACT NOW.

Sign this petition today to let Congress know you're not going to be quiet.

Because health care should be about preserving life, not ending it!

ACT NOW before it's too late -- Go to FreeOurHealthCareNow.com

P.S. Our only chance is to get millions of Americans to speak up. Help spread the message: Send this message to at least 10 friends!

Since when did the Left lose its taste for subtlety?

Yeah, yeah, I know, Florida 2000, which led inexorably to "Crazy Nancy" Pelosi's malignant rise to congressional power, first as House Minority Leader in 2003 and Speaker in 2007.  But even she employed stealth and misdirection in how her party finally got its majorities back in 2006, to wit, to take advantage of the GOP's fumbling of the fiscal responsibility mantle by running so-called "Blue Dog fiscal conservative" Dems in GOP leaning districts and lowering her own botoxed profile for the duration.  A "subtle" concession that the country didn't really move left all that much in 2006 and 2008, but rather that "independents" and "New Democrats" are chowder headed morons who'll swallow any neoBolshevik deception fed to them if the seller is sufficiently telegenic.  And we all know who's president right now, don't we?

Thus explaineth the current state of the Left's second grand attempt at nationalizing American health care, which is looking increasingly similar to the outcome of its first attempt under Barry's gargoylesque foreign minister.

It isn't, in other words, that the Obamunists lost their taste for subtlety; it's that they never had that ability in the first place, even if their arrogance would have allowed them to acknowledge that it was necessary in the halcyon dawn of the "Hopeandchange" age.  Thus, the weeks and weeks of Red Barry gibbering his "you can keep your plan and doctor/you won't pay higher taxes/costs will be reduced" lies before any and every camera and microphone, which worked just fine until the CBO left the reservation and actually started edging closer to the truth in its fiscal scoring of BarryCare.

It's easy to streak the entire country, IOW, if nobody is allowed to either lift their blindfolds or exclaim, "Hey, that guy's naked!"  Now The One is "that guy", running around the field frantically trying to dodge cops trying to tackle him and drag him - or, to fine-tune the analogy while regrettably draining much of its fun imagery, his health care putsch - off to the proverbial paddy wagon.

So Senate Donks (aaaaaand RINOs), who are a lot older and more experienced than Dr. Chicago, are trying to come to his rescue by a revival of the technique that Democrats of the three previous generations used to build the towering, monolithic bureaucratic superstate that is crushing us to this day: incrementalism:

[Senate sources] said any legislation that emerges from the talks is expected to provide for a nonprofit cooperative to sell insurance in competition with private industry, rather than giving the federal government a role in the marketplace. The White House and numerous Democrats in Congress have called for a government option to provide competition to private companies and hold down costs.

One of the senators involved in the talks, Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, confirmed that co-ops are the preferred approach. “The co-op is certainly one of the prominent options that is on the table,” Snowe told reporters after the group met Monday. “It’s safe to say that’ll probably remain in the final document.”

Officials also said a bipartisan compromise would not subject companies to a penalty if they declined to offer coverage to their workers. Instead, these businesses would be required to reimburse the government for part or all of any federal subsidies designed to help lower-income employees obtain insurance on their own.

Snowe said the idea is to discourage employers from dropping coverage because under the plan their workers could get government assistance to pay premiums. “We don’t want to undermine (employer coverage) or create a perverse incentive where employers potentially drop coverage because their employees can get subsidies,” she said.

Well, okay, incrementalism AND subtlety.  In practice, the "non-profit co-op" angle is just a fig leaf for "the government option" - one degree of separation, if that.  Ditto employer reimbursement of individual health care subsidies in lieu of straightforward fines for not following the dictator's orders and throwing their employees into the snapping jaws of BarryCare.  If the Li'l President had taken such a genuinely stealth approach to taking over the health care sector instead of the totalitarian blitzkrieg he and his extremist myrmidons did attempt, he'd have probably already enjoyed his "landmark/for the history books/coming down off Mt. Sinai" Rose Garden signing ceremony photo op with those of us on the Right stewing in the wings in spluttering frustration.

Now it's Red Barry's base that's spluttering in outrage, their orgasmic expectations of authoritarian mass nationalizations dashed by the reality that America evidently has not quite completely completed its "transformation" into Obamerika after all - which is to say, effective opposition to The One is still possible.  And which is also to say that their blind faith in the Jemimah Glory of "Hopeandchange," as well as that of their "god," has proven highly unfounded.

Ironic that it is Lucifer who's now caught in the middle, all but helpless, watching his "Democrats pitch this to the Left as a de facto public plan while they’re pitching it to the Right as anything but."  The Right - and the "middle" along with them - won't buy it, and the Obamunists will settle for nothing less than the full socialist monte.  Doubly ironic that the latter factor, absent fifteen years ago to anywhere near today's extent, can only have the very same electoral results.

Can B.O. triangulate like Sick Willie did?  Who would be his Newt Gingrich when John "The Droner" Boehner and Mitch "Campbell Soup Kids' Friendly Uncle" McConnell would be the GOP's congressional not-so-dynamic duo and he's already played the Rush Limbaugh card?

UPDATE: Am I getting ahead of myself?  Well, I don't deny that I very much would like to.  Moving up November 2010 to now might even make a retaking of the Senate not completely inconceivable.

But the facts are that Barack Obama is a left-wing extremist whose media-maintained aura of godhood is melting like Walter Donovan's face in the Grail chamber.  He's Bill Clinton with Hillary's ideological rigidity.  And this is the reality he's got to somehow overcome:

This is what Dr. Chicago keeps insisting is his "bending of the cost curve".

Ya know, when the first tablets on which the Ten Commandments were writen were smashed, it wasn't the LORD Who did so because He didn't want Moses to figure out that the entire Exodus was really a scam to liquidate the Jews in the Sinai wilderness to save Pharoah the trouble.  Makes one whet for what new hole Barry will drill in his health care boat to let the PR water run out.

The National Republican Trust

An Urgent Message from the one group that can stop Obama’s Socialist Health Care Plan- Scott Wheeler, Executive Director

Dear Supporter:

The Obama machine is starting to crack — and in a desperate attempt to get control of over 15% of the total U.S. economy, Obama is trying to ramrod his massive takeover of America's healthcare system through Congress.

Just like his Trojan horse stimulus bill filled with $800 billion in political pork barrel projects, Obama doesn't want anyone to read the bill!

The Democratic health care plan totals over 1000 pages and Obama wants Congress to vote yea or nay by August 1st.

Press reports indicate Obama is furious that some moderate Democrats think his health care takeover is simply too much, too fast.

This is good news because it means Obama can be stopped.

Health care can be his Waterloo.

But we must act fast.

We at the National Republican Trust have a plan.

We need to mobilize opposition to Obama's policies and frustrate Obama, Reid and Pelosi's plans to socialize the entire economy — placing themselves in control of key sectors of American industry.

Make no mistake about it, we are at a crossroads now we can actually defeat the takeover of our healthcare system by the Obama socialists.

But we have to DO IT NOW!!!

Please help The National Republican Trust — click here to donate now.

The latest opinion polls show that Obama's popularity is falling daily.

We have played a role in that.

As his numbers drop, support from moderate Democrats in Congress also falls.

Obama knows that time is working against him. The clock is ticking.

This is why Obama has announced that Congress must pass his massive takeover of your healthcare system before their August recess.

Obama knows if we have more time we will defeat it.

Obama has to ram this healthcare bill through without anyone in Congress even reading it!

We can stop him.

But we can't stop it without you!

I am asking you to urgently donate right now.

Our plan is simple: expose Obama's health care nightmare to Americans and urge them to call their Congressmen — especially the moderates in the Democrat party.

In just days we will unveil television ads.

We hope to spend at least $500,000 over the next two weeks to stop Obama's plan.

Please help The National Republican Trust — click here to donate now.

We want Democrats to realize they will pay a very high price in the 2010 elections if they back Obama's socialist health care plan.

After the massive failure of Obama's so-called “stimulus bill” that cost us nearly a trillion dollars and has made the economy worse — we came close to defeating the stimulus bill but ran out of time.

Obama, sensing that he was close to being defeated, rushed the bill through Congress with the help of his corrupt allies Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader “Dingy” Harry Reid.

We CAN NOT let them do this to us again.

WE MUST RALLY NOW!!! WE HAVE TO STAND UP AND BE HEARD!!!

SEND US A DONATION NOW AND WE WILL BROADCAST LOUDLY THAT WE WILL NOT STAND STILL AND ALLOW OBAMA, REID AND PELOSI TO CONTROL OUR HEALTHCARE!!!

The number who donate and the size of your donation will dictate how loudly we can push to have his plan rejected once and for all.

I know that I speak for all of you when I say I have had enough of the administration.

We do not want some bureaucrat check to see who we voted for before telling us whether or not we can have the operation needed to save our lives.

That may seem far-fetched, but look what Obama did when he took over the auto industry; he kept car dealers who supported his campaign and closed those that supported Republicans.

You all know that I mean business.

Through your help we raised and spent millions of dollars in television ads telling the American people about Obama's anti-American Pastor Jeremiah Wright before the presidential election.

Please help The National Republican Trust — click here to donate now.

We helped Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss win his Georgia run-off election.

We drove that “RINO” Senator Arlen Spector away from the GOP for his treacherous vote for Obama's stimulus bill, assuring his defeat in elections next year.

Obama knows that he has a limited time to get himself in control of the American economy before his failures and the election of 2010 make it impossible for his Democrat supporters in

Congress to keep voting for socialism and still get elected. We have to make them feel the heat NOW!!

Help us make this a nationally televised tea party against the massive healthcare bill that no one has even read.

This healthcare bill will, over time force citizens like you and me into public healthcare and bankrupt private insurers who can't compete with government subsidized insurance.

Obama wants to own your life with this healthcare bill.

Help us stop him. These television ads can do it, but we all must pitch in.

Yours for America,

Scott Wheeler

Aside from American Solutions, I have been working for the past six years at the Center for Health Transformation to reform our health system, in order to save lives and save money. We absolutely need reform, but President's Obama's $1 trillion health care bill that would raise taxes and eliminate private sector jobs is the wrong approach.

Faced with a struggling economy and almost 10% unemployment, we don't need more taxes, more government, and more bureaucracy.

Just look at the chart below to see what health care would look like under President Obama's plan. Does that look like a plan that will deliver better quality health care to you and your family?

Health Care Chart

Unfortunately, Speaker Pelosi is going to try to ram through this bill just like she did the Energy Tax. And she's going to try this week.

Because we are opposed to this plan however doesn't mean we don't need reform. We do.

That is why Nancy Desmond and I founded the Center for Health Transformation, where for the past six years we have been working to develop a new healthcare system in which every American has access to better health with more choices at lower cost.

I hope that you'll take a moment to see what
we've been working on at the Center, including a recent column that Nancy and I wrote, summarizing our six straightforward steps to reform health care without raising taxes, elimi nating jobs, or raising the deficit. In particular I hope you'll review the Center's initiative to fight fraud, which accounts for as much as 10 percent of all healthcare spending, and consider signing the Center's petition to End Fraud First.

We can get to the real reforms of tomorrow, but first we must focus on stopping the bad proposals we're faced with today.

Your friend,

Newt Gingrich

Thanks to your willingness to support the "Free Our Health Care NOW!" petition where over 740,000 Americans have voiced their opposition to nationalized health care and the increased cost, reduced access and lower quality which it threatens to impose on us!

At his press conference Wednesday night, President Obama admitted that the government will be intervening between you and your doctor. Only to prevent "unnecessary" care, he said but it will be the government, not the doctor who decides what's necessary. This is worrisome!

The nationalized health care plan proposed by President Obama calls for rationed care. Rationed care requires that patients forego medical procedures which fail to meet federal approval. Under nationalized health care, a bureaucrat will have the power to delay or deny care to a patient without regard for the patient's medical needs or for the physician's advice.

In Canada and the United Kingdom, both of which have adopted a nationalized health care system, patients' access to care is far more restricted and wait times are far longer than in the United States. Consider the following wait times:

  • Better late... In a recent survey of adults suffering from a chronic condition, 74% of U.S. patients met with a specialist within four weeks of scheduling an appointment. By comparison, only 42% of British patients and just 40% of Canadian patients were able to meet with a specialist in the first four weeks suffering from their condition.
  • ...than Never? In the same survey, 33% of patients in the United Kingdom and 42% of patients in Canada waited for more than 2 months before meeting with a specialist to address their chronic condition. In the United States, only 10% of patients waited for longer than 2 months before meeting with a specialist.
  • Hazardous Delay. Canadian wait times exceed the clinically reasonable wait time for every medical specialty . For neurosurgery, for instance, although the clinically reasonable wait time is 5.8 weeks, the average Canadian wait time exceeds 31 weeks. Orthopedic surgery is even worse. The clinically reasonable wait time is 11 weeks; Canadian patients waiting on orthopedic surgery wait on average almost 37 weeks before they receive treatment. http://www.ncpa.org/pdfs/Canadian_UK_HealthSystems.pdf

Rationed care affects all patients. In Canada and the United Kingdom patients have reduced access to health care providers, longer waits for examinations and fewer available treatment options. As it has in Canada and the United Kingdom, nationalized health care in the United States threatens to reduce the quality of care and therefore, the quality of life for all Americans.

>>CEI Files Public Comments to FCC: Exercise Restraint From Regulating Broadband

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, signed into law earlier this year, set aside $7.2 billion for expanding broadband Internet access. Just this week, the FCC concluded its notice of inquiry regarding how these funds should be spent, and in particular, what new regulations should accompany the money. In our comments last month, and our reply comments this week, we explain that most of the proposed new rules are just price controls in sheep’s clothing, and that new subsidies will follow in the wasteful and anticompetitive footsteps of existing programs.

Nicaragua’s corrupt, authoritarian president Daniel Ortega is now pushing a change to his country’s constitution to extend his rule. Ortega is a former communist backed by Venezuela’s anti-American strongman Hugo Chavez. He uses vote fraud, arbitrary arrests, and intimidation to expand and perpetuate his power. Ortega has been emboldened by the Obama administration’s demand that neighboring Honduras permit the return of its corrupt, bullying ex-president Mel Zelaya, who was removed for similarly seeking to perpetuate his rule.

Cass Sunstein who is nominated to be the next Administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs faces opposition coming from far-left Democrats and the environmental and consumerist movements over his embrace of cost-benefit analysis in regulatory policymaking.  Especially troubling to these groups is Sunstein’s support for what critics deride as the “senior death discount,” which Time describes as “the statistical practice of taking into account years of life expectancy when evaluating a regulation.” If that’s a problem for Cass Sunstein, then what are we to make of various Democratic proposals to allocate fewer health care resources on the basis of their expected value to society?

Obama promised not to raise taxes on anyone making less than $250,000 a year. But he is now breaking that promise by proposing to tax some middle-class families to pay for health care. Obama has also falsely pledged that if you like your health insurance, you will be able to keep it under his plan. But the Congressional health-care bills he backs would destroy countless inexpensive health-care plans by gutting a federal law called ERISA that makes it possible for employers to offer them.

Antitrust is a form of economic regulation. And like all economic regulation, it transfers wealth from somebody to somebody else, often in response to special-interest urging. Partly in recognition of such shortcomings, many economic sectors like transportation and telecommunications were (partly) deregulated and liberalized during the last quarter of the 20th century. But antitrust regulation typically gets a pass. Even in the “new economy,” this century-old smokestack era law is used to justify constraints and conditions imposed on vigorously competitive modern companies. Antitrust is wrongly seen as being in the public interest, as having a superior role to play in policing markets relative to the alternatives.

Oh, wait, I'm sorry, that's the cure FOR BarryCare; I think the cure for L.E.D. is "Obamucil".  Too bad it tastes like what it, and congressional Democrats, are being harangued by the "desperate president" to, um, pass.  Maybe that explains the souring of the American people on communized medicine, as well as crap & tax and Hogzilla II and hopeandchange in general, and the corresponding (and epiphanous) reticence of Donk swine to follow President Legion straight off the political cliff.

To my sixty-eight million fellow Americans who are exponentially realizing the full magnitude of the disaster their brain-farting idolotry has brought down on the entire country, I can only quote Colonel William Stryker after the full extent of his manipulation of James "Wolverine" Logan was fully revealed to him:

I told you if you went down this path, you wouldn't like what you found.

Great News! More than 625,000 Americans have signed the petition, voicing their support for affordable, accessible, high-quality health care. Many of you have asked, Can you sign twice? The answer is no, and in fact you will get a message that you have already signed. However, we need your help to forward this important information to all your lists, networks, friends and family members.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell recently summarized the dangers of a government-run health care system as being a "system in which care is denied, delayed, and rationed." He's exactly right! To fund a nationalized health care system, Congress will have to deny, delay, and ration care for the sick and elderly.

If health care is rationed, how would that work? White House health advisor Zeke Emanuel (who is also the brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel) wrote an entire article on this subject in the Lancet on January 31, 2009. In the article, Emanuel advocated giving young adults priority over senior citizens. Suppose a 25-year-old and a 65-year-old each has a life-threatening disease. Since the 25-year-old has many more potential years of life ahead of him, he should receive preferential treatment, according to Emanuel. He justifies denying care to elderly patients in the following way:

Unlike allocation by sex or race, allocation by age is not invidious discrimination; every person lives through different life stages rather than being a single age. Even if 25-year-olds receive priority over 65-year-olds, everyone who is 65 years now was previously 25 years.

There is more! In another article written in 1996 for the Hastings Center Report , Emanuel said health services should not be guaranteed to "individuals who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens." He continues, "An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia."

Ultimately, such a health care plan would ignore the end-of-life needs of many Americans!

What can you do about all of this?

Nancy Pelosi is at it again.  Last week she dropped a 1,018-page bill pushing government-run health care.  We must act now to make sure that our worst nightmares don’t come true:

Help stop the government takeover of health care dead in its tracks! Invest $25 to help us fight back!

  • That the bill would only cover one-third of America's uninsured population

  • That 83.4 million Americans would lose their private coverage and be forced into the government health insurance plan

  • And that yearly premiums for the typical American with private coverage could go up by as much as $460 per person.1

As reckless an overreach as this new bill may be, politicians are really thinking about making it law. It’s important that you and I make sure American families understand the dangers of government-run health care.

Right now, you and I have a unique opportunity to kill this dangerous bill. Will you help us raise $50,000 in the next 48 hours to expand the buy of our hard hitting television ad? We’re running this ad in targeted states prior to the August recess to make sure the public is well aware about the dangers of a government-run health care system. Can you donate $25 to make that happen?

Please Click Here to Contribute

The director of the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office went on record saying that the bill "significantly expands the federal responsibility for health care costs." In other words, the bill will increase the national debt, forcing a heavier burden on American taxpayers and only hurting the already-ailing American economy.

Conservative Democrats in the House announced Monday significant reservations about the bill and President Obama has had to admit it may not happen by his August timeline because the bill is quickly losing public support.

You don't want a health care bill that puts our health in the hands of government bureaucrats, and with your generous support today we can stop it dead in its tracks. Please consider investing $25 today to help us raise $50,000 in the next 48 hours and expose the dangers of government-run health care and mobilize millions of Americans against it.

This is why Red Barry, as Jim aptly calls him, is in such a hurry to pass health care "reform."

As President Obama's campaign-style push for healthcare reform continues, a poll published today found that, for the first time, public support for his handling of the issue has slipped below 50%.

The president's overall job approval is 59% in the Washington Post/ABC News survey, the first time the poll has measured it below 60%. Other polls, notably Gallup, also have found the president's approval slipping into the high 50s.

Gotta do it quick, before the public finds out what's in it. Heck, HE doesn't even know what's in it, but he knows it will give the government more control, VASTLY more control, over our lives, and that's all he needs to know.

Jim never seems surprised by any of The One's antics. I was for a while there; I don't understand how these people can be so blatantly dishonest and look at themselves in the mirror. It takes a whole different mindset. I think he really does think he's America's savior. What gets me, is what gives him that idea? What has he done in his life that he is so proud of? I don't see a thing. The only thing he's good at is hustling people, and I'll admit he's a master at that. But at the end of his life, will he be able to look back at what he's done and be proud? I guess if you're that good at fooling other people, you can be good at fooling yourself that you really are a good person. One of the things that bothers me the most about our current situation is that we have so many genuinely bad people in leadership. I don't think you can be a good person and subject your family to Jeremiah Wright for twenty years. I don't think you can be a good person and look into a camera and lie day after day as Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and others have done and are doing. And so on. Barney Frank? John Conyers? Patrick Leahey? Al fricken' Franken? I don't see them as good men, not even a little bit. Looking beyond their personalities, I look at what they have said and done in the past, and I see dishonesty and lust for power. It's depressing and demoralizing to see the positions they have in our great nation. If we continue to elect people like this, we will cease to be a great nation, and that bothers me.

JASmius adds: We stopped being a "great nation" years ago, IMHO.  We're like the southern kingdom of Judah after the end of King Josiah's reign (with Ronald Reagan akin to his grandfather Hezekiah, Bill Clinton as his father Manasseh, and George W. Bush as Josiah himself).  Hezekiah's reign was the Judah's last gasp of "great nationhood"; Manassah's unprecedented wickedness sealed the southern kingdom's fate for good, and Josiah's good reign just delayed the inevitable.

Similarly, the heedless, thoughtless, idolotrous election of Barack Obama and a Donk SuperCongress confirms to one, all, history, and the Almighty that America's best days truly are behind her.  The only question is how much damage they manage to do and how deeply they succeed in entrenching themselves in power despite it.  Or, to employ another Biblical aphorism, "What you sow, you shall also reap."

On the hopeful side, there may be some hope that the damage might just be more limited than originally thought after all - with the possibility of an undrempt-of bonus.

Three vids that make Jim DeMint's case for him....

My favorite part?  When the narrator in the last clip cracks that a trillion dollars is "enough to fund the federal government....for three whole months".

Weren't the Republicans cashiered from control of Congress for spending too much taxpayer money?  "Trillion is the new billion," indeed.

Thanks for being a part of the team for Free Our Health Care Now!  In six weeks, over 465,000  people have signed saying no to government health care!

The House health reform bill will outlaw private insurance coverage that is bought and sold in the open market.  Instead, Congress wants to force all private insurance outside the place of work to be purchased in an "exchange" created and controlled by the government.   Also, within the "exchange" insurance not approved by the government will be outlawed!   So much for  private plans!   So much for our ability to choose!

What kind of care will you get from the health plan the government does approve?  A new federal health board will decide whether your health care is "effective" or "appropriate."  According to Tom Daschle, the idea is based on Britain's model which has determined that one year of life is worth only $44,000.  The health board will consist of 17 bureaucrats appointed by the Secretary of HHS, whose job is to "enable clinicians, patients, consumers, and payers to make more informed health care decisions that improve quality and value."  I don't need the government to "enable" me to make decisions that improve quality and value for me.  Do you?

What can you do about all of this?

I know how concerned you are about Big Labor’s destructive impact on our nation’s economy and our freedoms.

The next few days and weeks will be absolutely critical if we are to preserve some core freedoms that the union bosses and Barack Obama are working around the clock to take away from us.

That’s why Senator Jim DeMint, Steve Forbes and I took the extraordinary step of producing a special video about the union bosses’ alarming new plans for our country.

As you’ll see in your video, we are at a pivotal point in our nation’s history. If we do not step up right now to confront the forced unionism power grabs threatening our economy and our freedoms, the union bosses could become an unstoppable political force in remaking America.

For 40 years, the National Right to Work Foundation has used the power of the courts to check Big Labor's abuses, defend workers' rights, block illegal organizing drives, and hold union thugs accountable for violence and bloodshed.

But we don’t want our strategy falling into the wrong hands. That’s why I’d like to rush you a confidential briefing containing this urgent video message. Please click here to get your personalized briefing today.

Sincerely,

Mark Mix

This Tuesday marked the one year anniversary of President Bush lifting the executive ban on offshore drilling - one of the key accomplishments of our "Drill Here, Drill Now" campaign. But now, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar is taking steps to prevent new drilling for American oil and gas. Here's how:

The Interior Department writes the regulations that dictate when and where we drill, and those decisions are supposed to depend upon the opinions of citizens like you. But Secretary Salazar is refusing to release the public email address for you to submit any comments. This is not progress, and it's certainly not transparency.

So we're launching the next p hase of the "Drill Here, Drill Now" campaign and we need your help.

We plan to get the facts out about Secretary Salazar's actions, apply serious pressure to both him and Congress, and recruit as many people as possible to submit their comments to the Interior Department using a new online tool that we've been developing.

Can you make a secure contribution of $10, or whatever you can afford, to help launch this effort? For your contribution, we'll be sending you two new "Drill Here, Drill Now" bumper stickers.

We've already taken the first step by leading a press conference on Tuesday at the U.S. Capitol.
Click here for a video clip:

Last year we made history when we forced Congress to effectively lift the almost 30-year ban on offshore drilling. Your contribution today of $10, or whatever you can afford, will help us make history again.

Thanks for everything you do.

Your friend,

Newt Gingrich

Help Stop Another Threat to U.S. Energy Security

Don’t look now, but another threat to America’s access to affordable energy looms on the horizon.

Recently, Nancy Pelosi and her fellow liberals in Congress passed a massive new Cap and Trade Energy Tax in the House.  This potentially devastating legislation that would threaten thousands of American jobs and cause energy prices to skyrocket now moves to the Senate and could be voted on as early as September.  Meanwhile, the Obama Administration is attacking our energy security on another front.

Soon after he was confirmed as Secretary of the Interior, Ken Salazar announced that his department would be scrapping the plan for offshore oil and natural gas drilling and exploration developed by the previous administration.

Every five years the Department of the Interior’s U.S. Minerals Management Service (MMS), the agency responsible for offshore oil and gas leasing in the United States, develops a Five-Year Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) leasing program that helps schedule offshore oil and gas lease sales.  Instead of sticking to the plan in place, Salazar’s MMS is changing the rules on energy companies in the middle of the game.

Please call Secretary Salazar at 1 (877) 851-2516 and tell him that altering the Draft Proposed Program for 2010-2015 already in place, threatens our energy supply and could send gas prices through the roof.

The Obama administration has made no secret about their desire to see less oil, gas, and other tried-and-true fossil fuels on the table and their plans to limit energy production will increase energy prices.  The truth is, we need all energy options on the table and the government shouldn’t be picking and choosing winners.

Higher energy costs mean fewer jobs and rising costs on everything from food to transportation to heating and electricity.  Expanding offshore drilling and producing more energy would lower costs and help create more jobs.

The middle of an economic crisis is no time to start changing how business is done for the businesses, workers, and families that rely on the availability of the billions of barrels of oil and trillions of cubic feet of natural gas just off our own shores.  New technology has made energy exploration more environmentally friendly and safer for workers.

Call Secretary Salazar at 1 (877) 851-2516 and tell him we need more energy not less. And if you have another moment, please
send an email to the agency. Let him know you support the Draft Proposed Program for 2010-2015 – the plan already in place.

Sincerely,
Dick Armey
Chairman

Want to see what government-run health care looks like? Check this out.

What a nightmare...

JASmius adds: Oh, heck, Hillary's version of it fifteen years ago was worse than that.  Which means that the Obamunists are squirreling away the other 99% of the organizational flowchart somewhere else.

This, though, is BarryCare in horrifying, infuriating practice:

Let's add this up and personalize it for good measure (feel free to substitute your own personal circumstances as appropriate): The Emperor is absolutely hell-bent on confiscating pretty much all my worldly wealth and destroying my job and my wife's in exchange for seeing to it that my family and I never - AND I MEAN NEVER - have access to quality health care EVER again.  Sheesh, what's not to like about THAT deal?

Judging by the tectonic polling shift, quite a bit, it appears:

Just 35% of U.S. voters now support the creation of a government health insurance company to compete with private health insurers.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 50% of voters oppose setting up a government health insurance company as President Obama and congressional Democrats are now proposing in their health care reform plan. Fifteen percent (15%) are undecided.

In mid-June, 41% of American adults thought setting up a government health insurance company to compete with private health insurance companies was a good idea, but the identical number (41%) disagreed.

Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Democrats favor the creation of a government insurance alternative. But Republicans (73%) and voters not affiliated with either party (62%) are opposed.

None ought to wonder why the Chicago Cherubim wants to shove this 10,000 (give 'em time, give 'em time) page monster down our throats in the next two weeks.  He wants this government seizure of a seventh of the American economy (to go with the effective seizure of the other 85% via cap & tax) to be a fait accompli before anybody can do a damn thing about it so that even if it costs his party control of Congress next year, that will be the last dying gasp not just of the Republican Party, but of the American Republic as it has lingered 233 years past its founding.  Indeed, once the economy is communized, he can simply hold us hostage directly against removing his party from legislative power, even as a swansong coda.

And, gee, that worked SO well with Hogzilla, didn't it?  Golly, how's THAT one working out, B.O.?:

This isn't just buffoonery, and it isn't just dishonesty; it's totalitarianism.  Or, as the old "two cow" model goes....:

You have two cows.  The government takes them and denies they ever existed.  Milk is banned.

So, the mind-boggling spending binge Red Barry insisted was a "stimulus" and had to be passed RIGHT NOW, and which we said all along was not a "stimulus," and which the Obamunist congressional Politburo and media propaganda apparatus continued to insist was a "stimulus" with an avalanche of jobs and prosperity "just around the corner" even though it didn't "stimulate" anything except the downward plunge of America's economy, international prestige, credit rating, and future eruption of Weimar-style hyperinflation, now was never intended as a stimulus in the first place.  Make sense?

Answer: almost as much sense as the notion that counterfeiting 800 billion fake buckeroos (i.e. $3 trillion, ultimately) could flip the economy back over to booming at all, much less "immediately".  Or that vacuuming another trillion smackers out of a cratering economy will REDUCE health care costs.  Or that page 16 of the health care "reform" bill that Red Barry insists will "allow" you to keep your private health insurance coverage "if you want it" explicitly BANS private individual health insurance.  As in "takes away whether you want it or not".

And the Obamunists want to ram this through the Capitol Hill rubber stamp machine, just like they did Hogzilla, with even more dreadful results.

That isn't just irresponsibility.  That isn't just jackbooted corruption.  That isn't even just "soft despotism."

It's totalitarianism.

Gus Hall would be so proud.

UPDATE: Same to you, pinko assholes:

Thanks for being a part of the team for Free Our Health Care Now!  In one month, over 370,000  people have signed saying no, to government health care!

We truly are in the battle of our lives!   Here are the facts on the new 1,018 page bill just released this afternoon.  Unfortunately, it has all the bad ideas from previous versions, and more!   For instance, there are new federal regulations on the rental of power-driven wheelchairs; new government rules on how providers are supposed to treat patients with dementia; and new regulations on smoking cessation, and everything in between.

In addition to the 1,000 pages of new federal regulations on health care, there are multiple taxes including in the bill because the government will need to raise more than $1 trillion to pay for these new regulations.

The bill creates a new government-run health plan that will undercut the private market pushing as many as 119 million people out of their private health insurance and be forced into a Medicaid-like plan.  Employers will be pressed to drop their insurance benefits and send their employees over to the new government plan.  This provision doesn’t apply to Members of Congress, who will be able to keep their health plan.

The bill will also create a new federal health board, a group of government bureaucrats that will decide whether your health care is effective or not, which could endanger your ability to receive the health care you need

To pay for the new federal health board, there will be a new “fair share” tax imposed on everyone’s health insurance to raise $375 million needed for the new bureaucracy. The government has not yet decided what your portion will be.

As I previously wrote to you, there will be a new “tax on individuals without acceptable health care coverage.”  In other words, if your health insurance isn’t government-approved you will be taxed.

This is truly a partnership, we need to educate the public!  Join our Facebook Cause at http://apps.facebook.com/causes/306019.    Let's move those numbers, send to friends who haven’t signed   www.freeourhealthcarenow.com

In one month, over 330,000 people have signed saying no, to government health care!  We are now receiving between 15,000 - 20,000 signatures every day. We ask each of you to reach out to at least three friends this weekend, as time is of the essence. With your help we will have 1 million-plus signers to deliver the petition to the Congressional leaders and the White House. http://www.freeourhealthcarenow.com/

Per your request, for our 437 Tea Party Patriot chapter partners, we have prepared a health care power-point presentation with teacher's notes for your health care day, on Friday, July 17th. Every one of you can be an expert on free-market health care! http://actionpack.ncpa.org/  Don't forget to ask everyone to sign the petition, and have their voices heard. http://www.ncpa.org/pdfs/healthcare_petition.pdf  Remember to return the completed petitions to us!

We are in the battle of our lives. President Obama and Congress want to force employers to pay for health insurance reform. Although the details aren't completely settled yet, the idea is to create a new federal mandate that would force employers to provide health insurance for their employees - or pay a penalty tax to the government. Of course, they don't actually use the dirty words "tax" or "mandate", rather the legislation uses words like "shared responsibility" and "contributions" to the government. Of special note, members of Congress, are going to vote for you and me to have a government-run plan, but not going to join us - they are going to keep their current taxpayer-funded plan.

If that doesn't get your attention, this will! The government is about to force employers to pay for employees' health insurance with an average cost of $12,000 per employee per year or $6.00 per hour. This new health care mandate will effectively increase the federal minimum wage from $7.25 to $13.25 per hour. There will be massive layoffs and entire industries who employ hourly employees are at risk. This is a direct hit to small businesses, the job creating sector of our economy!

This is truly a partnership! If you have not signed, please do so! If you have signed, forward the petition to three friends who have not signed and let's move those numbers. www.freeourhealthcarenow.com  You can keep track of our progress on our website www.ncpa.org - just click on the ticker link under the Eagle. 500,000 - 1 million, here we come! We are fighting for our freedom!

WASHINGTON is moving to take away control of YOUR HEALTH CARE – BUT THEY ARE KEEPING THEIR GOLD-PLATED PLANS!

Stop Them Today By Clicking Here!

President Obama made clear last week that Michelle and his daughters would be exempt from any new health care plan passed by Congress, just as members of
Congress are exempt from the plans they make for the rest of us.

President Obama is holding screened “townhalls” where union members get to ask questions – the same union members Max Baucus wants to exempt from a new health benefits tax on everyone else.

They’re trying to push health legislation through just like they did the “stimulus” – Will members of Congress even take time to read it before they sign it?

WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT?

TELL BARACK OBAMA AND MAX BAUCUS:

Hands Off My Health Care!

Sign the Petition Today!

President Obama, Ted Kennedy and Max Baucus are trying to seize control of our health care, and to pay for it they want to cut existing Medicare and Medicaid benefits by $400 Billion and raise our taxes! Their government takeover of health care will drive us deeper into debt and it won’t even help most of those they claim they want to help – the uninsured. The poor and the uninsured will still be getting a raw deal, as will the taxpayers!

The Congressional Budget Office says Kennedy’s bill would leave 34 million uninsured – yet cost at least $600 billion to increase government control of the rest of us.

250 million Patients like us have been left out. We can’t sit by and let this happen, or else we lose:

  • Our choice of doctors
  • All control of our health insurance options
  • Timely access to quality health care
  • Money by paying for a government takeover

You just celebrated the American freedoms we cherish. Don’t let Washington take away our health care freedoms!

Visit www.JoinPatientsFirst.com to sign the petition! Contact your senators and tell them to keep their
hands off your health care!

President Obama and Congress are pushing for "reform" that will move America closer to a government-run system like Canada or Great Britain. If they succeed, most Americans will no longer be able to keep the insurance they have. Instead, they will be forced into a government-run health insurance market, with most people enrolled in a government-run health plan.

I support the following as key elements of any health care reform plan:

  • Choice: I support the right to choose my own doctor and to choose a health insurance plan that best fits my family's needs and budget.
  • Access: I want to get the treatment I need, when I need it, without delay or denial and I want my health care to be patient-centered rather than government-centered.
  • Fairness: I want the same tax breaks employees get if I have to pay for my own health insurance; and I want government assistance redirected to those that truly need help.
  • Responsibility: I want more control to cover my own health care decisions and I want a system that encourages everyone to eliminate fraud, waste and abuse. I want insurance that I can take with me if I have to change jobs.

Thanks to you, we now have more than 235,000 Americans who have declared their support for a free market health care system by signing the Free Our Health Care Now! petition. The groundswell of support for private health care could not come at a more important time. As we celebrate July 4th, the 233rd anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the Administration and Congress are making good on their campaign promise to increase America's patriotism by increasing our taxes.

The House Democratic health reform plan includes a provision in section 401 that creates a new "tax on individuals without acceptable health care coverage." That means if the government doesn't approve of the type of health insurance you have, you will be taxed as much as 2% of your yearly income. And there's no exemption for people making less than $250,000 per year! I do not believe increasing our taxes is a patriotic way to celebrate Independence Day.

Additionally, Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus (D-MT) recently proposed legislation estimated by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) to cost $1.6 trillion over ten years. Despite this unprecedented budgetary outlay, more than 15 million uninsured Americans would remain unprotected under the Baucus Health Plan. Baucus now says that the cost has been pushed down to $1 trillion, but that may be wishful thinking.

In an effort to continue in the same spirit of those Founding Fathers who met at Independence Hall in Philadelphia 233 years ago, we want to be free of burdensome and illegitimate taxes, regulation and control. To help in this effort we have prepared an "Action Pac" tool kit to educate the public on health care. It includes links for learning and teaching materials including a power point slide presentation with teachers notes, all available for you to use.

American taxpayers and American patients deserve better. Please help us educate the public. Send the "Action Pac" education kit to all your friends and family. Remember, the health care that you're fighting for is your own!

Thanks for your help in this important fight for freedom.

Obama Silences Science: Is This the Change We Were Promised?
by William Yeatman
President Barack Obama rode into the White House promising open and honest government. So why did his administration bully a career official at the Environmental Protection Agency into silence? Last week, the Competitive Enterprise Institute released a 98 page report written by Alan Carlin, a 38 year veteran of the EPA, on the shaky science employed by global warming alarmists. . . But the EPA would not consider Carlin’s report.

Supreme Court Rules in Favor of White and Hispanic Firefighters in Ricci v. DeStefano
by Hans Bader
The Supreme Court has just ruled in favor of white and Hispanic firefighters, who were denied promotions when the City of New Haven threw out the exam they scored highest on, citing the fact that no black firefighter scored high enough. In Ricci v. DeStefano, the Court reversed a decision by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, including Judge Sonia Sotomayor, whom Obama has nominated to the Supreme Court.

Obama's Call for Light Bulb Regulation Not a New or Bright Idea
by Alex Hankins
The White House now wants to force lamp and light bulb manufacturers to make their products use less energy.  This plan appears modeled after the ambitious fuel efficiency standards applied to the now decimated auto industry and Obama’s orderto the Department of Energy to mandate increased efficiency for household appliances.

America's Ranking Crisis
by Jack O'Connor
Much ink has been spilled over the claim that the US is “falling behind” in broadband. . .We did some digging, and if we are in a ranking crisis, it’s even broader than we feared. The US ranks 12th in the world in per capita pork consumption, behind such unlikely competitors as Spain, Sweden, and Canada. We’re 12th and 13th in coffee and beer drinking, trailing Northern Europe by embarrassing margins.

The Freedom Revolution Continues on July 4th

Dear Friend,

I just wanted to send you a quick note about how you can celebrate and defend freedom this weekend. Many of you are already working hard this week to meet with your Congressman and Senators to talk to them about the national energy tax that just passed the House of Representatives. You are also spending some time at town hall meetings and other events trying to corner Members of Congress to ask them tough questions about government-run health care. Working together this week, across the country, advocates of liberty can and will make a difference in these two hugely important legislative battles.

But I also wanted to make sure you are aware of the hundreds of events taking place around the country on July 4th to celebrate and defend our liberty. My staff has put together this interactive map that you can use to locate an event near you, get driving directions to the event, and get in touch with the local organizers. I hope that you will attend one of these events this weekend, and connect with the thousands of other advocates of freedom who are celebrating our Independence Day in a unique way. Also, be sure to download and print out copies of the flyer for our September 12th March on Washington.

We are working hard to make sure that we bring thousands of Americans together on that day to take our message directly to lawmakers at the U.S. Capitol. The March on Washington will feature grassroots training seminars, issue education and grassroots lobbying on Thursday and Friday. But Saturday is the big event when we will gather together in one voice to tell the politicians ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I hope that you will join us as we march down the streets and right up to the steps of the U.S. Capitol building.

The far left, including Janeane Garofalo, Keith Olbermann, Nancy Pelosi and the mainstream media have laughed us off, or called us derogatory names. But we know that this is because they fear this grassroots movement against the growth of government, and the debt, deficits and taxes that are bankrupting our country. This July 4th and September 12th, we will send a powerful message to them, to the U.S. Congress and the president, that we are a force more powerful than anything they ever expected. I hope that you will attend an event on July 4th to make your voice heard, and help us spread the word about our historic March on Washington on September 12th. Enjoy your Independence Day celebration, and keep working hard to defend liberty. Our efforts will pay off sooner, rather than later.

Sincerely,
Dick Armey

Friends of John Boehner

Dear Fellow American,

Last Friday, I stood on the House floor and went line-by-line through 300 pages of Speaker Pelosi's national energy tax (also known as "cap and trade"). For more than an hour I highlighted dozens of provisions that will destroy American jobs, raise prices for gasoline and electricity, and devastate middle-class families and small businesses.

Democrats didn't like their plans being exposed like that and tried to shut me down.

Now I need your help to shut them down.

The national energy tax Speaker Pelosi forced her party to support is "likely to be the biggest tax in American history," according to The Wall Street Journal. President Obama himself said energy costs will "skyrocket" for families and small businesses under a "cap and trade" plan.

We have to stop it.

Please make an immediate contribution of $10, $25, or $50 to help me fight the national energy tax and deliver a common sense "all of the above" energy plan that lowers gas prices and creates new jobs. Every dollar you can spare will help me wage a sustained, public campaign against the national energy tax and in support of my "all of the above" energy plan.

Remember, this isn't just about energy - it's about American jobs.

Speaker Pelosi's national energy tax will ship millions of jobs overseas to countries like China and India. It will devastate American manufacturing and raise prices for anyone who drives to work or dares to flip on a light switch.

And make no mistake: Democrats will use this massive tax hike for more of the same wasteful Washington spending that's burying our children and grandchildren in debt.

American families can't afford a new jobs-killing tax. So please make a generous contribution of $10, $25, or $50 today and help me make sure Democrats come to regret this vote.

We can create new jobs, keep energy costs low, and promote a healthy environment without raising taxes. I hope I can count on your help today!

Sincerely,

John Boehner (R-OH)
